"Apart from the wonderful views out to sea from so many holes, the striking feature of the site is the deep canyon that separates two plateaus. The problem was how to incorporate this gorge into the course design, and how to cross it! A clever network of cart paths solved it, and in addition, the descent down to the 7th tee is an adventure in itself".
Scuba Diving
Pissouri Black Rock Dive Centre is a PADI 5 Star IDC and Gold Palm resort, the only scuba diving centre in Pissouri and the closest to guests of the private villas, exclusive golf resort of Aphrodite Hills and the five star luxury of the Colombia Beach Hotel.
The Zenobia:
Rated as one of the top wreck dives in the world, and as a marine reserve you are guaranteed to see fish, lots of fish.
The 'Zen' sank on her maiden voyage in 1980 due to technical problems. 27 years on trucks can still be found to hang by the vehicle deck sea chains, whilst others have since broken free.
As well as an abundance of fish, soft corals have made the wreck their new home. Remeber to look out into the blue for hunting jacks speeding into the many shoals of small fish looking for a quick snack.
Jubilee Shoals, Avdimou Bay:
A RIB ride 2km out into the Med to one of the most spectacular dives in all of Cyprus. A wall dive that rises from the sea floor 80m below.
At 16m the top is covered by an abundance of beautiful soft corals, ideal for the photographer. Drop over the edge to explore the many crevices for grouper, moray eels, scorpion fish and wrasse. Also a great place to look for nudibranchs.
You may occasionally see local spearfisherman free diving and at the same depth as you!
Beach
Pissouri Blue Flag beach is a clean and safe and rarely crowded.
Sunbathing bed and shades are available on the beach.
Water sports available in the summer from a number of suppliers and include jet skis,windsurfing and water skiing, etc. There is also a small diving school if you would like to learn to scuba dive during your stay or visit some of the local dive sites.
