The village of Kilkhampton, is a ten minute walk from Penstowe. It has two pubs, a fish & chip shop, a post office, and other useful shops. The nearest beach is a national trust beach at Sandymouth bay, approximately 3 miles away. Other nearby attractions include the Tamar Lakes which have excellent water sports, angling and many stunning walks; the South West Coastal Path and the dramatic scenery of the Atlantic Heritage Coast. The area also offers the sandy beach at Summerleaze in the town of Bude and further along the coast is Widemouth Bay, famous for its surfing. 4 Hillside provides an ideal base for the numerous family based activities in the area, such as the Big Sheep and the Milky Way.
The Bude area offers its visitors a variety of holiday experiences from a relaxing short or weekend break to challenging activity holidays in natural surroundings, family holidays with nearby attractions and adventure parks, and opportunities for walking, cycling, golf and bird watching. The area also has some of the best surfing beaches in the UK.

4 Hillside is fully equipped to a high standard and includes a microwave, TV, DVD player and Freeview. This self-contained bungalow sleeps 4 people, in two bedrooms and there is a kitchen, lounge and bathroom. There is a patio area to the front of the bungalow accessed via the patio doors. A cot and a highchair are available free of charge. The beds are made up for your arrival. Electricity is provided via a coin meter. Our Information Pack in the bungalow provides lots of useful information and ideas to help get your holiday off to a perfect start! Whilst reading through the Pack you can enjoy the fresh scones and jam ready to welcome you to Cornwall on your arrival.

Cleaning/towels/linen/maid Service:
Bedding is included and the beds are made up for your arrival. A fresh set of bedding is provided for each week of your stay. We do not provide towels or tea-towels, as most guests prefer to bring their own. The property is cleaned prior to your arrival.

Notes on accommodation: Housed within Penstowe Manor is Penstowe Sports and Leisure Club. Membership to this club is available to guests staying at 4 Hillside. The application forms are available from the Manor House upon arrival at Penstowe, and membership costs approximately £50 per week for a family of four. Shorter periods can also be purchased at a reduced cost.
Penstowe Sports and Leisure Club offers: 2 restaurants; cabaret suite with dance floor; 3 bars; live nightly entertainment; takeaway; children’s entertainment; children’s club and activities; tennis; squash; badminton; amusements; big screen satellite TV; indoor swimming pool; 3 indoor bowls rinks; pool tables; jacuzzi and sauna. New for 2009!!! - Beauty treatments and Massage.
The Stable Block is free to all guests and offers a small shop, access to the two heated outdoor pools, amusements and the Stable Bar & Grill. It is usually open from May - October. Also on site is the launderette, with washing machines and tumble dryers operated on a coin meter basis.

Travel
The use of a car is essential, as public transport is limited in this area. Penstowe is easily accessible via the M5 from the North Devon Link Road (A361/A39) - or the A30 (Exeter & Okehampton bypass) and Holsworthy.
Booking notes
Please make enquiries by e-mail. A deposit of £75 per week is payable with your booking, and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to departure.

Changeover day Saturday. Departure by 10am, arrival after 4pm.
