Ludlow is the perfect base from which to explore Shropshire, Herefordshire and the Welsh Marches. There are many interesting places to visit within the surrounding area. Whether you want to walk, cycle, fish, shop or visit historical houses and gardens, there's something for everyone.
Within easy reach are the historic cities of Hereford and Shrewsbury. For spectacular walking there's the Long Mynd and Church Stretton, and for those who like to visit old houses there's Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and Stokesay Castle all just a short drive away.
Also within easy reach is Ironbridge, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, with it's fascinating museums.
This is just a brief selection of what the area has to offer. You won't be short of places to visit.....you'll be short of time to fit them all in!

The centrally heated accommodation is tastefully presented and beautifully furnished throughout. On the ground floor, the open-plan sitting room has a comfortable sofa and easy chair. The dining area has an extending table and an elegant sideboard with plenty of storage space. There is a TV, DVD, VCR and radio/CD player, together with a variety of books including many of local interest. The kitchen area is compact but fully equipped, featuring a full size electric cooker with extractor fan, fridge and microwave. The automatic washing machine is located in a separate area.
There is also a small sunny garden room with café style table and chairs (ideal for a relaxed breakfast or afternoon tea), and a downstairs cloakroom.
Upstairs, there is one bedroom with twin beds and views of the river. We provide best quality Egyptian cotton bedding, a hairdryer and radio/alarm clock. There is ample storage and hanging space. The modern bathroom features a full sized bath as well as a separate walk-in power shower.
Outside, the south facing courtyard garden has a table with parasol, chairs and a gas barbecue. It’s a real suntrap and a wonderful spot to unwind. (Ludford View is attached to our own property, accessed through the courtyard.) Fishing rights are included, with access for fishing available on request. We can also offer secure storage for bicycles.
All electricity, heating, linens and towels are included. Welcome beverages and biscuits are provided and we also supply household items such as washing-up liquid, kitchen roll, cling film, toilet rolls etc.
Sorry, but no pets and non-smokers only please. The property is not suitable for children under 12.
We do not insist on Saturday changeovers and will always try to be flexible (subject to availability). Short breaks (minimum 3 nights) are available throughout the year.

The nearest airport is Birmingham International, about 60 miles away.
Distances
The cottage is within 10 minutes walk of Ludlow town centre.
Further details
Ludlow is renowned as a centre for good food. The regaular market and independant shops sell the best quality local foods. There are many excellent places to eat, from fine restaurants to great value pubs and bars.
Booking notes
A deposit of £50 per week (or part week) is required to book, with the balance payable 4 weeks prior to arrival.
Changeover day
Changeover day is completely flexible, subject to availability. Arrival is from 3 p.m. and departure by 10 a.m. on the final day.
Golf
Elm Lodge and Ludlow Golf Course both provide facilities for visitors are are about 10 minutes away by car.
Fishing
Fishing is available on site by arrangement with the owners. The river is well stocked with barbel, greyling and brown trout.
There are also many other local opportunties to fish the River Teme.
Accessibility
The property is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Access to the property is through a gate with a steepish step.
Outside
The courtyard garden faces south and is a real suntrap. It faces the river and there is garden furniture and a gas barbecue.
