Description:
Located in the peaceful village of Barrou in the department of Indre et Loire, France. The village’s location halfway between the regional capitals of Tours and Poitiers makes it an ideal base to explore the chateaux of the Loire Valley and the department of Vienne. Plus you can visit the theme parks of Futuroscope and Grande Parc du Fou which are great for kids young and old! Barrou itself has a restaurant/bar, boulangerie (baker) boucherie (butcher) and épicier (grocer) all within walking distance of the house. There is a boulodrome in the centre of the village for ‘Petanque (boules). The house, with its history, (originally it was a mill for producing walnut oil) beamed ceilings and tiled floors retains its charm. Accommodation consists of a large lounge, kitchen/diner two double bedrooms, the master with en-suite. There is a second toilet and shower room off the lounge. There is a large enclosed sunny courtyard for alfresco dining and sun bathing.

Bedrooms: The large,light and airy master bedroom has a kingsize bed and large dressing table. The room also has its own access to the courtyard below.
The second bedroom has a double bed and drawer and hanging space.
Double futon can be used if required.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom with shower over bath and separate w.c. in master bedroom.
Second showeroom with w.c. on ground floor.
Kitchen: The kitchen/diner is well equipped to allow you to serve up some of the local fare should you wish to eat in after a busy day. The table comfortably seats six.
Cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave etc.
Living Rooms: The spacious lounge has two sofas as well as a round table and four chairs and provides a relaxing room to watch tv/dvd/video, listen to music, or to take some light relief from the hot summer sun.
There is a good supply of reading material.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid Service: Towels and linen are included.
Utility room: Washing machine plus storage.
Other: There is another fridge (drinks) and dryer within the barn of the property.

"This is the seventh time we've stayed in France and can honestly say that "The Old Walnut Mill" is the best equipped and most comfortable house we have come across so far. Extremely relaxing and a superb point from which to discover the treasures of the Loire Valley and surrounding areas. La Roche Posay, 10km east of Barrou located in the centre of this spa resort, Golf du Connetable which is now over 17 years in existence offers a mature course with fairly narrow tree lined fairways many with dog legs.
