This Gite is located in the beautiful village of Gien. Gien is especially known for its ceramics. Here the so-called Faïence de Gien is produced. This plant was established in 1821 by the Englishman Thomas Hall. The plant has several large ceramic exhibitions. During the Second World War Gien was subjected to heavy bombing. A large church, among other things, was destroyed. The church was rebuilt in the fifties in a modern style. In Gien you will also find the castle of Anne de Beaujeu. This castle was built around 1500. A bridge with 12 pillars (over the Loire) leads to the southern part of the city. The bridge dates from 1734. From the accommodation you can also easily reach Orleans- the city of Jeanne d'Arc. Orleans lies in a bay of the Loire.
