Sarlat (25 mins) - Large, historic town with excellent shops and markets, as well as canoeing/fishing on the Dordogne river. Cahors (50 mins) Capital of the Lot department, famous for its extensive vineyards and beautiful bridge across the river Lot. Rocamadour (30 mins) with its stunning elevated views and town set into the cliff side with its ancient church and eagles.

Description:
Character stone property with pigionnier, set within 3.5 hectares of sloping gardens and woods. Large terrace with panoramic views for summer dining - a speciality of ours from 14 years of previous restaurant ownership. We offer a high standard of comfort & refinement, and our evening meals are of outstanding quality (with past cooking awards from the Michelin guide, the Good Food guide and AA Best Restaurants).

Our prices remain static throughout the year with NO high season supplement. All our prices are based on two people sharing a room (single occupancy is €45 daily). Additional people in our family room are €12 daily.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 on ground floor has a double bed with garden views and tiled floors throughout. Decorated in cool eau-de-nil green.
Bedroom 2 on 1st floor has a antique French double bed, beams, sofa and is decorated in neutrals with hand made wall paper.
Bedroom 3, also on 1st floor, has a kingsize bed with a double sofabed (for extra 1-2 people), fully-exposed beams and spacious living area.
ALL rooms centrally-heated and have tea/coffee making facility, hairdryers & mineral water.
Guests fridge provided for milk & mineral water.
Bathrooms: Bedroom 1 has ensuite shower, pedestal basin and lavatory
Bedroom 2 has large ensuite walk-in shower, pedestal basin and lavatory
Bedroom 3 has extra large walk-in shower, double sinks and lavatory.
ALL bathrooms are provided with towels and flannels. Complimentary soaps, shower gels & hair shampoo.
Kitchen: No guest personal kitchen available.
Living Rooms: Large living/dining room with ample sofas, chaise longue and comfortable chairs, magazines, English and French TV with DVD player, central heating and woodburner. There are numerous books (reference and fiction) available and superb views of the valley and gardens seen from within.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid Service: All bed linen (sheets, pillows, etc) provided and changed every 3-4 days. All towels, hand towels and flannels provided in bathrooms and changed every 3-4 days.
Bathrooms and bedrooms cleaned every day.
Utility room: No guests personal laundry facilities available
Sleeping capacity: 2 double bedrooms + 1 family room for 3-4 people

Notes on accommodation:
We are open virtually all year and have a Gîtes de France classification of 3 épis for outstanding accommodation. We welcome all children over three years old, but regret no babies or pets.
Guests are welcome to move freely with no access restrictions.
Continental breakfasts are provided from 8h - 9h30 with fresh fruit, fromage blanc, croissants and homemade brioche, cinammon buns and preserves, tea, coffee or chocolate.

Toulouse airport is approximately 1.5 hours south on National toll road.
Bergerac airport is approximately 1.75 hours west on departmental scenic road.
Limoges airport is approximately 2 hours north.
Car hire is recommended as much of the countryside is hilly and public transport is infrequent.

We are situated on a walking route (we also have bicycles available!).
Our local supermarkets are open throughout lunchtimes, Banks are open 5 days a week (tues-sat). There is a large market each saturday morning in Gourdon with numerous bars, cafés and restaurants. Very helpful Tourist information office (English spoken) with immense amount of information on places of interest to visit. Fêtes de St Jean in July has nightime entertainment as well as a 2-day Medieval fair in August.

There are golf courses in the our Lot department nearby at Souillac and Ginouillac (within 30 mins). Several others exist in neighbouring Dordogne region.

The lake at Gourdon allows fishing, and is the nearest within 5 minutes travel. There is extensive river fishing nearby in the Lot and Dordogne departments, however a permit is required.

Wine Tasting
Cahors has many vineyards, providing tasting facilities, and is famed throughout the region for its 'black wines', made exclusively from Malbec grapes. Details of Chateaux available in the house.

Accessibility
Although there is a ground floor bedroom, the entire property is built on a hill, which means there are several steps inside and outdoors.

Outside
There is a stone terrace running the length of the south side of the house with tables and chairs for 14 people, also a table underneath a large Linden tree. There are also benches available.
Complimenting the age and character of the building is an old bread oven and a solid stone barbecue available for guests use.
