Pretty seaside resort close to the ferry port of Caen for easy access. Long sandy beach is within walking distance, as are numerous restaurants and shops as well a casino and cinema. For days out visit the stunning beauty of Normandy’s countryside interior, with its thatched cottages and changing landscapes. Why not try the “Route de Cidre” which follows typical country lanes and picturesque villages such as Beuvron en Auge, Cambremer or Bonnebosq. For a touch of glamour visit Deauville, 18km, with its boutiques and regular horse racing calendar or the picturesque fishing town of Honfleur 34 km or Bayeux 60km with its world renowned tapestry depicting the famous battle of William the Conqueror. Cabourg is ideally placed to visit the Normandy D-Day landing beaches which stretch from the ferry port of Caen- Ouistreham to the artificial harbour of Arromanches built by the Allies on D-Day. The Caen memorial is also worth a trip for those interested in the D-Day landings. These sandy beaches uncover at low tide and are a favorite for water and beach sports such as windsurfing, kite flying, waterskiing and kite surfing. International airports: Deauville 25km and Caen 42km both with regular flights from Shoreham (Brighton). Ferry ports of Caen 20km and Le Havre 80km.
