The B&B is located in 'Ronco', Ghiffa, a small village on Lake Maggiore, not far from the town of Verbania. A paradise for nature and water sports enthusiasts! The nature here is overwhelming with lots of greenery, special flowers, streams and waterfalls! In the vicinity of Lago Maggiore there is Lake Orta. Around the lakes there is something to do throughout the year: swimming, surfing, sunbathing, hiking in the imposing mountains (where in winter you can ski) or take a boat ride to one of the islands (Brisago, Isola Madre, Isola Bella, Isola Dei Pescatori or Isola Borromee). The Swiss city of Locarno, where each year (in August) the famous film festival is held, is just 45 minutes away by car. A visit to Cannobio and the Sunday market is highly recommended. Also you should not miss the numerous quaint mountain villages in the area like Val Vigezzo, Baveno, Mergozzo, and Motta Rossa. In winter you can ski in Domenico-Ciamporino! At the end of July to early August, there are many film and music festivals held at the lakes. The Tourist Office can supply you with a route map which includes all the culinary high points in the region, and can tell you where typical local products can be sampled as well as purchased.
